Default starter issue?

I currently own a 2012 f-150 xlt 5.0. Im not sure if i am haveing an issue with my starter, the serpintene belt, or something else. My issue is when my truck sits without being started or ran for 24 hours + and i finally start the engine i hear a grunt sound, as the engine rolls over it sounds normal but once it starts i hear the noise but it only last for a second. If i kill the engine and restart it does not do it. Does anyone have a suggestion?

thanks in advance!!

Does it sound like the starter doesn't fully disengage for a split-second after the engine fires? If so, mine does the same thing after sitting about 24 hours or longer. It's aggravating and annoying

yes that is exactly what it sounds like. Did you happen to get your truck checked to see what they may think it is?

I haven't gotten it checked yet. The thing is that the truck has to sit for 24 hours or longer for it to make the noise, so taking it to the dealer isn't really going to do anything unless they keep it over night. Which I couldn't do that since its my daily driver for the most part. Have a feeling they'll say it's "normal" and won't do anything about it. Seems to be trend for dealerships lately...

It's very interesting that I'm not the only one having the problem

If you can take your truck in to see what it is do you mind letting me know what they say? I'll do the same if I can take mine in too
