2013 platinum driver's side door rattle
#61
I feel your pain. I had the exact same rattle. When I pushed the door panel in with my elbow at the back of the door it went away. I took my panel off over 50 times and applied foam tape. After bringing it to the dealer twice they finally sprayed something black behind there that got all over the paint on the inside of the truck. I'd rather them mess up my paint and me keep my sanity though. Now I have a rattle in the passenger side where my cup holder is. The rattles ruin the whole new truck thing for me.

Door rattle fixed
Except it wasn't the door, it was my headliner. Although like many folks on this forum I could've sworn the sound was coming from either my drivers door or rear passenger and did the usual by taking apart both doors. Secured every loose piece I could find. Stuff them with rags, and everything else I could find, yet the rattle persisted. So I had my wife drive me around while I tried to hear exactly where the rattle was from and found the headliner made an awful lot of noise when pushed.
If you have a sunroof ( I have a 2011 SuperCrew with sunroof) you can pull down on headliner towards the back of the sunroof. There are two magnets that hold the headliner to the roof. I pulled it down just enough to stick my hand in there and stuffed some rags towards the back using my son robot claw until I was able to press on the headliner without hearing any noise. Went for a ride and verified the noise was completely gone. Like a new truck again.
Worth a try if any of you cant seem to fix the dreaded "door rattle"

My 13 fx4 does the same on the passenger side! I cannot figure out what is causing it and it drives me nuts. If any one knows help would be greatly appreciated.

My door panels rattle as well and I figured out today that my armrest is beginning to fall off it looks like. I wonder if Ford can send me new arm rests or door panels (if it's all one piece). Because this is ridiculous. My physical door is falling apart. I'll post pictures later. Not happy

Latch mechanism was loose inside of mine at 14k. Three trips to dealer(s) later, I stuck my bore scope into the door, studied it, located what appeared to be bolts that were moving (could see wear marks around the heads) and fixed it.

I fixed mine, it turned out to be the side mirror bolts were too tight and the bushings were making contact with the back side of the door. I loosed both driver and passenger and the rattles stopped on both sides.

My drivers door has been creaking/rattling for some time now when going over bumps or on non smooth pavement. Sounds like it is coming from the mirror area. I'm waiting for next oil change at dealer to have them look at it.
My wife said "can you just deal with it!?" I said no...especially not for a new truck!
