My 2012 has had 1 issue (failed rear power window) which was replaced and is trouble free so far. I have the "infamous" Pirelli tires and they have trouble free…… no vibration or anything else. Not the best traction on snow or ice but I will replace them with a different tire when worn.

Bottom line I feel bad for owners that have these problems and Ford should make it right. On the other hand there are tens of thousands of very satisfied buyers of F150's. I have friends with new Ram trucks and have a long list of problems. So yea.. ALL Mfgs have issues and that's why there are warranties…

True. I just hope I get to one day join those tens of thousands of happy F150 owners.

Update #3. 2013 FX4 20inch Pirelli's... Truck is now up to 2800 miles.... The truck has now been to the dealership 3 times in the 2 months I've owned it for the vibration. Last week they discovered the ELD (Electronic Locking Diff) switch was defective from the factory, causing the rear diff lock to engage. They replaced the switch and road forced balanced the tires/wheels again. Service manager said the vibration he felt was gone. Well.... it's not. It's exactly the same as when I took it in. The rear end of the truck vibrates every morning after sitting all night, especially around 45-55mph. Dealership claims they can't reproduce the vibration. I'm so sick of this!

I would like to thank Crystal and the CSM for being helpful, kind and courteous. However, the fact is, this brand-new 52K truck still vibrates in the rear. I started this process with a very understanding and calm attitude, but as time as gone on, I'm just down right frustrated now. The thing that upset me the most was that the CSM called and said "yes we've confirmed your tires are flat spotting" then the very next day called and said "tires are fine it's the ELD switch". Anyways, she suggested I take it to a different dealer to see if they can replicate the problem. Do you guys have any suggestions? I'm about to do what the OP did and just take it to Discount tire, pay to have them index it, buy some new rubber, and then have the team of lawyers where I work deal with getting Ford or Pirelli to reimburse me any difference. I hate to be like that, but I want my truck to roll smooth, and repeated trips to the dealer apparently are not the answer.

Crystal..... what's your suggestion?

I had the pirelli's for a couple years before this on my last truck. Two of them were fine while the other two were just horrible. I couldn't rotate them, they would shake the wheel right out of my hands. Three shops tried balancing them. I still have them in my garage actually.
I was a little disappointed (worried) to see them on my 13, but after 2200 miles I'm still having a smooth ride with them. Honestly I could've sworn they had switched to bridgestone a year or so ago. Obviously not.
Op, how bad is the vibration ? I notice a tiny vibe, here and there, but never enough to shake the truck.
Is there any chance of coming to a resolution with the dealer of switching to the bridgestones?

Hi sgrayhem,

I received your PM and responded; I'll reach out to your CSM and let her know you're still experiencing this concern. She'll follow up with you to discuss some options.

I think the OP's vibration may have been more pronounced than mine. He had vibration in the steering wheel. I have vibration in the seat (especially the passenger seat) but the steering wheel doesn't shake. My vibration feels like its coming from the rear of the truck (specifically the right rear). It feels just like you'd expect a unbalanced tire or flat spotted tire to feel. The good thing is, after about 8-10 miles or once on the highway for a while the vibration seems to smooth out significantly. It never goes away completely but it is what I would consider acceptable. As for a resolution, I don't care what the solution is, as long as it does't vibrate every morning, I'll be happy.

Dealer replaced driveshaft, vibration not noticeable. I will put a few hundred miles on the truck before I commit to saying problem fixed.

Hope that does the trick for yours. Dealer says he didn't feel the vibration in my truck so Ford has stopped responding completely. i'm beginning to loathe the truck.

Default 2013 fx4 super crew rear end vibration

I picked up a F150 Super crew 6'6" box 3.5 Ecoboost. Went from a Tacoma, great switch, should have done it years ago. However I have a pretty bad shake on the drivers side rear that shakes the truck box pretty good. I've noticed other post about previous models. It has been back to the dealer once and they said they checked the balance, but I don't believe they truly removed the weights and rebalanced. I am going to try again, then I will have them do the force balance. Did see apost on the Clutch Packs? Not sure I have these. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Do love the truck!
