Default 2013 FX4 remote start distance

So I'm a first time Ford truck owner. Got my new FX4 just over a month ago and to be honest I'm loving it. I had a 2012 fully banged Dodge Ram for about a year and a half and liked the truck but it's not an FX4 by any means.

Anyhow I'm curious to know is anyone finds that their distance on their remote starter is very short. I have to be within about 20ft to get it to start which defies the purpose of having it. I might as well get in and turn the key. Lol

Anyways what do you think?

Depends. If it is a clear shot with no walls, like a parking lot, then it will work for a couple hundred feet.

What I've found that helps is you have to hit the buttons a little slower. Not a BANG BANG BANG.

I have the same truck, that is my only complaint really. The range sucks on these things.

I can start mine from inside the house when the truck is parked across the street so that works for me.

With my truck, it will work when I'm in the house one time, next time nothing (app 50 foot), and sometime it won't work when I'm standing next to truck, nor will the lock's work. Frustrating but i deal with it and no the dealers could find nothing wrong it....as usual.
( Yes new key fob battery)

I started mine at 75 ft at least.
I don't have to go out side to fire her up. That's all I care about.

I have the 200 series in my truck, and it works well over 500 feet away. I'm going to assume the 100 series is installed in your truck which the distance is a good amount shorter that it will work. 20 feet is pretty bad though. Maybe try changing out your batteries in the remote?

I can get about that on a clear line of sight! Forget it will walls, etc in the way. It's certainly not what it should be imo….. I think Ford wants you upgrade…. $$$$ lol

Also try changing the remote battery, I did this and my issues went away.
