I was about the same miles. The batt must drain at the dealer while on the lot or something. Maybe bad batts...maybe bad install connection...idk

Try swapping to the spare and see what happens but I think the key (no pun intended) is to not hit the buttons too fast

I changed my battery twice and i gained an extra 5 feet to about 25 feet . It's brutal, no question about it.

What's the "actual" not advertised range on the 200 series?

I would say mine is good for 500 feet. A lot of it depends on where you mount the external antenna.

This is all bull****...the remote start is just a tease...and a huge disappointment. I'd complain to ford but all they would do is say hey...it works...look...as they stand 4 feet away.

I'm seriously looking at the start system with smartphone so that if I'm in a Brazilian Steak house in Rio de Janeiro, I can start the damn thing if its parked at the north pole.

100 series? 200 series? I didnt see any series differentiated starters on ford website or in vehicle specs...

500 feet? serious? really?

I get 500 too...centimeters

There is a TSB that is suppose to help with the FOB. It makes the buttons seem more firm but it didn't help my poor range. It is TSB 13-8-7. If your truck is subject to this TSB maybe you'll get better results than me.

Mine acts up to. Sometimes I can be standing beside it and it will blink the lights like its gonna start and it don't. Other times it will surprise me and start at a distance I don't expect. Recently leaving a ball game and walking to the truck from a very long distance I could lock and unlock doors but not start it until about 2 car lengths away. Kinda defeats the reason for having it.

Don't really see any good reason to be able to unlock from way across the lot. Seems more reasonable that you would want to start it from there. Especially as cold as it has been.

The remote start and very poor fuel mileage are the only complaints of my new fx4
