WTF
Not sure what WTF stands for, but when we got the once through with the salesman, he said the latch needed to be pushed to bring it up. I didn't question him. With that said, I just went out and tried it, and it raises up without using the lever and locks into place. I am impressed that people read all my comments. I stand corrected. I guess that's why I asked for clarification if I was incorrect. Thank you sir, I will correct the other part.

Thanks for giving your comparisons. It seems to me that most of your comparison points are piddly little things that are always different (not necessarily better or worse) with the different brands. I think what you are pointing out is sheer personal preference based on being used to certain features/quirks throughout your years with a certain vehicle (which is fine and normal). Not to mention, your XLT is a lower trim level and I'm not sure how outfitted your GM was so that could be a part of some of the differences you're seeing. For example, my 04 has a sunglasses holder etc on the overhead storage system, but its a higher trim level than an XLT. So alot of the comparisons you are mking I think should be taken with a grain of salt and within context of what vehicle you have. (Not bashing you, just pointing that out.)
I'm in the complete opposite boat as you (kinda). I own a 2004 FX4 F150 and I drive a 2012 Chevy 2500 for work. My personal truck (Ford) just seems to be an overall better designed vehicle when compared to the Chevy...fit, finish, comfort, ergonomics, all of the piddly little "unimportant" things etc etc etc. And I love my tall bedsides Either way, I say congrats on the new truck!

Batteries Not Included
Although I love my Ford, I am always delighted to find that some people actually think about what they are purchasing before they actually do. I think they all have their pros and cons, but there will always be something out there for everyone. As far as some minor items being considered petty, I don't think anything is petty when you are paying for it then have to live with it! I want to be happy with the entire package!
The best part of your write up? Honesty. Kudos to you. I hope you enjoy your ride as much as I love mine!

Congrats, we purchased on the same day. I traded my 2010 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7 Hemi in yesterday for a 2013 FX4 5.0. I have the luxury trim package so here's my take on a few of the things you noted.
I have the power fold mirrors, one touch and both fold in like jet fighter wings.
I have 10 way power seats with 2 memory settings so no problem there. If I had a complaint the seat belt is too short for shorter people who have to move the seat forward, the Ram had at least another 6 inches of belt travel.
Mine has both a sunglass holder above the mirror and a built in garage door opener.
Agree, even the speedometer is too small a scale. We have 20, 25, 35 mph speed traps where I like to set the cruise control, its not very precise on the Ford.
I'm a tech expert so I'll get it figured out then teach Ford dealers how it all works.
This is on my radar as well, the top menu choice on the Ford display is guages but you select it and there's like 1 trans temp gauge wtf. Ram had multiple guages temps and hours. Maybe it needs to be customized.
This threw me for a loop as well I was flashing high beems and trying to figure out why the lever had 2 detents. My noob sales person didn't know how it worked. Figured out that its pull and release unlike the turn signals I have used the last 50 years. That will take getting some use to but the actuator is superior. Pull to first detent you get 3 blinks, pull to 2nd detent and the blinker stays on until after you turn. High beem lever was similar pull and release but as an electronics guy I get it and feel the actuator is suprior to the old designs. My high beems used to be a foot switch on the floor board. lol
d. The manual side mirrors stick out farther than my power mirrors on my GMC. I worry that I will hit them when entering or exiting the garage. Advantage GMC.
e. Seat is more firm, probably because they are new. It takes more effort to slide them forward and aft
h.My XLT doesn’t have a pocket to put your sunglasses in or a place to clip the garage door opener.
k. The instrument panel has all the normal gauges plus a transmission gauge, but all seem to be too small to accurately display the real value. I like the bigger gauges where you can see movement of the needle, and know your engine temp is 185° F. Advantage GMC.
p. MYKEY is overwhelming, and it will take some time to learn all the functions there.
My GMC had basic information in the DIC, including an hour meter to keep track of the hours on the vehicle for those who do maintenance based on hours. I can’t find hours yet on the Ford. Maybe it’s there, maybe not. Too early to tell.
q. The Ford turn signal lever is push and release and not what I was used to having.

Did you check for paint on the undersides of your doors? ::
Good, honest write up though. I came from GM myself long ago, had a bad to mild experience with them. Still don't hate them though...or Rams...but the only thing i miss? Better brakes on GMs.
And WTF is internet lingo for "what the f***?"

Wait, what? I didn't see anywhere he said the fuel door was on the right side of the truck. Also, I think he was talking about the seat positioner lever, and the seat being stiff on the tracks.
OP, nice write-up. It's a "getting used to" situation. As I have always driven Ford's, I'm sure if I went with the Chevy there would be things that seemed a little askew also. Enjoy, the seats will break-in shortly.
