I got to thinking, that Cant be a v8 under there. Not on a truck.
It's the "Corporate Average" of ALL vehicle models made by a Mfgr. in any given model year that they set that average mileage figure to. It will be obtained by hybrid and electric "cars" that raise the average to offset the lower mileage obtaining trucks. I read that somewhere recently about what makes up the average. So there will not be a 54.5 mpg F150. Maybe 25-28 mpg due to weight savings by then?

Whats next? Im going to have to convert my 67 impala to electric?

Oh... And by that time, Im sure we are all going to have a wind mill in our back yards with solar panels too.

Cause electricity would go up in price.

Yahoo news posted today that bmw are using more and more aluminum in their bodies.

I Cant remember where i read it, but Its rumored that f150 should be aluminum by 2017... Reducing overall weight by 700 lbs.

Means an eco would run like a 5.0 from today...

I'm also wondering, I was about to purchase some after market HID's because the stock OEM headlights suck. I would much rather have the 2013 Ford HID's
