Grr. Chrome over the wheels has slight rust. Dealer states they are seeing a few. Ah well in the shop it goes for warranty. Sad as the truck was purchased new in Sept.

Its rail dust. Comes off of your brakes. Semi metallic brake pads. Clay bar, or iron X. Then seal it.

It's "Rail dust". Get a clay bar and take off and rewax. Could also use iron x.

I agree, it sounds like rail dust. Just curious how the plastic chrome covers on the wheels rust? I didn't think plastic rusted......

It's not MY rail dust thing. Rail dust is a fact. Most common on white vehicles, and chrome pieces. Usually behind the wheels and on the tailgate. And will keep coming back because it comes off of your brakes. Doesn't matter how much you wash. Paint needs to be sealed. And even then it won't prevent it, because it's fallout. That glorified baby oil they sell people on won't prevent it, either.

I agree Steve . These trucks cost us good money and after 1 year someone needs to be held accountable.
