Default 2013 F150 Issue with Brakes

So I just had to bring my 2013 f150 screw to the dealer because of a grinding noise at slow speeds especially when making a right turn. Dealer took a look at said there was a rust spot on my back rotor, so they turned the rotor. Turns out that didn't fix the problem. Now they want to keep the truck overnight so they can continue to work on it.

Brake pads have 80% life by the way.

Just curious if anyone else has had this problem, or any idea or what it is? Good news is that its under warranty.

As long as your braking feel and power is there, I woukdnt worry about it sir. Debris will get in between pads and rotors and can cause the anoying "squeal"... I had it happen to me for a bit and eventually went away.

It was a little more than a squeal. You could feel the vibration through the brake pedal and it was more of a crunching feel.

Is your truck 4x4? Could be a bad or lazy hub actuator or vacuum leak in the system that is letting the actuator partially engage one of your hubs, this will make a grinding noise/feel.

Oh that definitely merits inspection. Good luck and let us know!

Dealer just called he said they called the Ford hotline, and Ford says its probably the hub sticking. I have little to no knowledge of how this stuff works, how big of a deal is this?

Not...... I had both fronts replaced under warranty. Same symptoms as you. Noise goes way when switched to 4x4

Any news on how things are going at the dealership, eah990? Keep us posted and give me a shout if you need any help from my neck of the woods. In your PM, include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership.
