Sounds just like my issue and it was the resistor someone mentioned earlier.

Default 2013-F-150 SCrew AC Blower stops

I have the same problem. AC blower will stop blowing at any speed above notch 2. Need to turn unit off and it resets and then will work again, but not on high. I have over 41,000 miles so no warranty and I don't want to spend a ton of money on a truck that should not be having this issue at only 3 years old.

What is the resolution to get this fixed?

Thanks

I had a similar issue on my truck and it ended up being the blower motor resistor.

Default 2014 SCREW AC Changes Fan Speeds

I recently bought a slightly used/certified 2014 F150 FX4 SCREW with 3.5 Eco. Today I noticed the AC fan speed seems to fluctuate for no apparent reason. When I have the fan set to high it blows really strong and steady. When I lower it to a mid or low speed, I can hear the fan blowing air through the vents and then hear the fan slow down drastically, then pick back up again. It does that many times per minute. When I hear the fan speed slow, I can also feel a decrease in the amount of air coming out of the vents. So far I have only noticed this when the fan is set to blow through the dash vents. I have not yet tried the other settings (floor/defrost) to see if it does it on those settings as well. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Mine just quit working. Found the blower motor resistor has a couple of burned male prongs and plastic is also melted. The female plug portion is also slightly burned. I am just taking it in for warranty service now...we'll see what they do about it

Yep...they replaced the resistor but not the female plug. I asked the service advisor why not and he said the tech said it was discolored but not burned. When I got it home I looked at it again with a good flashlight. Yes it is discolored because it has been overheated. I guess I'll call his boss tomorrow. They will get this fixed one way or another. I hate lazy people...BTW, the blower is working but with an overheated plug, it will fail again...out of warranty.

Has anybody else had this particular problem? If you have had your resistor replaced, pull the plug off and look at it good.

Default Hvac

any fan blower issues should fixed under a recall!!!! Mine stopped working at 20000 miles! Out of warranty because it's at 2011. Replaced the resistor worked for 2 days, tried another new resistor did not work. Had to replace the 32 point wiring harness at the left foot well . The wires run through the sill plates and get wet and dirty from entering and exiting the truck with dirt or wet boots. Cost me 600$ to replace the 32 pin wire harness. That's a bunch of crap! 20000 miles and no hvac. That's an safety issue, if it starts to rain and you have no fan a fogs up you can't see, the truck is not really is not safe without a fan.

Default HVAC Blower motor Issues

Has anyone found a resolution to this issue? My 2014 F150 is doing the same thing.

My '13 F150 blower stopped working. I could tell the A/C was fine because I could feel the cold radiating near the vent. I figured it was the blower motor control module. I ordered the OE Motorcraft part on Amazon for about $38. The part number is "YH-1829". It took me about 5 minutes to replace and fixed my problem. I have read on the forums that other F150s of the same model have had the issue of being stuck on one speed or not working at all. When I took the old part out I could see that the prongs were burned out. The part is located under the passenger dashboard and can be removed by removing 2 -8mm screws. You can have easier access if you put down the glove box and pinch (inward) the side walls, which allows it to swing downward farther. The pigtail connector has black electrical tape around it. Remove the tape to expose the pigtail clip.

Thanks for your reply Zealot7311. I have replaced the blower resister 2 weeks ago but still have the same issue. I just ordered the in-cab temperature and humidity sensor. What I believe may be happening is when there is a large delta between the inside cabin temperature and the settings of the temperature control the amperage draw may be too much, causing the temp controller to shut down temporarily. The last time this issue occurred I took some compressed air and cooled down the temp sensor and subsequently was able to select all the blower settings. May be wrong but worth a try.
