Default fan speed problems

I have a 2013 Ford F 150 XLT SuperCrew.I have noticed that if I turn my fan speed too high it then shuts off I have to shut off the climate control system or shut off the vehicle and then restart the climate control system at low speed and after a few minutes I can gradually move the fan speed higher up to full speed but I cannot go from low to high and have it stay on. Has anyone got an update on the recall. I am out of warranty.

Here's the story, after having the HVAC issue and them not being able to fix it after 3 1/2 months, ford took the stance that the issues were "normal". upon getting this decision i filed a BBB complaint form stating i would like a replacement truck. once the BBB accepted the complaint and it was considered valid, ford had 14 days to respond or we were going to arbitration. on day 8 my case worker calls and says Ford responded with "we would like to have a service engineer look at the truck". i just laughed at this and said absolutely not as they have already had an engineer look at truck 3 times (like they didn't know this already)! my case worker tells me he will let them know this. I don't hear another word from anyone until the day after the deadline is up (day 15). they are calling to schedule the arbitration meeting and said ford never responded. so meeting is set for June 3rd. So guess who calls on June 2nd to say they would replace the vehicle!
So at this point i am contacted by the Reaquired Vehicle Department (RAV). this process takes another almost 3 weeks to complete.
So here i am, 1 week and 2 days shy of 5 months with a replacement truck.
I do want to state that the dealership, Field engineer, folks at the BBB and even the folks at the RAV department were top notch and very pleasant to work with. my biggest disappointment was with Ford corp. as i was left with the feeling that they were going to wait as long as possible to see if i would carry this all the way through to the end. Kind of a "calling my bluff" type of scenario. But in the end they did make it right so on to the next adventure.

Sorry for the long read but i wanted to post this as i did a lot of researching when this all began and couldn't find much on how this process works. so if anyone has any questions shoot me a PM and maybe i can help.

Sorry to reserect an old thread but over the weekend the blower fan stopped working all together. I have an appointment with the dealer on Friday but wanted to see if anyone had any advice. I took a look at the fuses in the manual and #46 might warrant a look however it sounds like the whole climate control system not just the fan. I can feel warm air but it just does not blow out of the vents no matter what speed I select on the touch screen or controls on my 2013 FX4.

Sounds like the blower motor resistor to me. Just fixed this in my 2010. I only had fan speeds 3 & 4 working originally, then just 4. Cost me $19 for the part, and like 15 minutes to replace it.

Taking your truck to the dealer is the best first step, skupko. Please let me know how things go moving forward; I'll be here to research additional options if necessary.

I'll keep an eye on the thread for any updates from you!

Not sure what your ordeal has to do with my fan cutting out but thank you for sharing. Still looking for a solution.

My 2013 F150 with 38,000 Miles on it recently stopped blowing air on some days, some days it runs just fine, then others it completely shuts down and makes a loud humming noise.

Hi Jason Haney,

Are you still experiencing this concern? Please send a PM verifying the year and mileage of your truck; I'll see how we can get that blower back in step.

Hi ftts,

I recommend setting up an appointment with your dealership at your earliest opportunity. I'll help them keep that blower quiet and consistent; please shoot me a PM with your full name, best contact number, VIN, and dealership information.

I bought a 2013 XLT a few weeks ago. Had issues with the HVAC ever since. It does seem to blow air out of the proper locations (defrost, face, feet, etc) but the volume of air coming out is weak, even on high. At times, you can hear the sound of the airflow change while driving and it'll blow hard...then a few minutes later it gets weak again. I'm out of warranty and I'm afraid of how expensive this could get.

I had two Ram 1500s that were flawless to 100K so I'm frustrated. Any advice?
