Exclamation 2013 F150 FX4 Engine Electrical Issues

Truck hit 50,000 miles recently and started having issues. Hoping i can get some advice on what is causing this. The truck is under an extended warranty and all work has been covered so far, but the dealership i've been dealing with is having problems diagnosing the root cause of the problems.

Issues so far include (here is a
to a youtube video i posted documenting the problems):
  • Engine loss of power
  • Sudden down shifting while driving at speeds of 45-50mph
  • Sudden surge in RPM (engine revving up to 7k sometimes)
  • Speedometer will show Zero as the speed while travelling at 45-50mph
  • "Wrench" icon will popup in center screen of the gauge cluster
  • Check Engine Light will come on or flash occasionally, not all the time.
The dealership diagnosed the problem initially as a "Turbo Waste Gate" issue. Stating they thought the turbos were staying open constantly. Their remedy was to completely replace BOTH turbos (again my truck is under warranty) even though i didn't think that was the issue i let them do it anyway. I came to pickup up my truck and the truck had power, but refused to do anything when i turned the key, no engine click, nothing. Then miraculously my truck started. I took my truck for a test drive since the engine sounded like it had hardly any power. It wasn't long after i got it on the road that i could see giving my truck even the slightest bit of gas created the following symptoms:
  • Speedometer arm would rush to Zero and stay at Zero even though i was driving 30-35mph.
  • Almost no power when given gas to accelerate.
  • All "Trip" numbers and vehicle mileage turned to dashes (image below of what it looked like)
  • Check engine light came on and stayed on.
  • Airbag light came on and stayed on.
  • Finally the big "Wrench" alert came on in the center screen of the gauge cluster.
Still trying to figure out what is wrong with the truck. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced!

If you have the extended warranty, let them keep throwing THEIR money at it... until they either fix it or Lemon-Law it for you on a new truck.

Agree. But still good to suggest the right path to the parts-replacers.

I think there is a tsb on shifting problems that might apply. That should be easy enough for them to find. The info cluster (IPC) may be shot. Did you get any codes?
