Default 2013 f150 ecoboost loss of boost

So I'm new to this forum. I have a 2013 f150 fx4 ecoboost. Right now I'm at 169,000km. I installed a friends monitoring device to read my boost. The truck will run 12-14 psi. If the truck is being driven for a long time it will all of a sudden lose boost. At this point the max I can get is 6psi. If I turn the truck off for a while then run it again, I'm back to full boost. It also threw a code saying turbocharger under boost. Any ideas?

if it was the bov it wouldnt reset itself after turning the truck off then back on.
i could be going down the highway and it will have full boost.... then drive steady speed for a while then floor it to pass someone and 6psi max.... pull over turn the truck off and back on and drive again and i will have full boost again.

I'm no expert but it might not be completely out of the realm of possibility. I think '13 was the first year to have an electrically controlled BOV (or maybe it was just relocated?) so it might be some sort of glitch that changes once power is cut to it.

What monitoring device do you have on the truck to see this? I am betting this is a wastegate issue personally. If it were BOV, all years the BOV are electronic, it would be something you could hear because it would be bleeding it off. 2011-2012 trucks BOV's are on turbos, 2013-2014 trucks the BOV is on the Intercooler.

If you have a chance to get ahold of the ability to monitor the truck via SCT logging, it will tell you what the issue is. One of the parameters on the software is the percentage of which the wastegate is open. You can set up the boost and every other parameter you want to monitor, including that wastegate operation, and then view it via a spreadsheet or other format afterwards. I would be there is something faulty on one or both of the actuators.

Don't just throw money at it. That's not necessarily going to fix it. Do it right and figure out the problem before throwing more parts at it.

Not sure about the Edge CTS, but maybe look into Forscan? Hopefully someone with Forscan experience will chime in on whether or not it can access the wastegate PID.
