2013 F150 Brake Failure, Sensor Failure, Cruise Control Issues
I originally posted this in a different thread but realized that one was old, sorry for the double post.
I had my brakes completely fail going down the highway a few months back. The dealership fixed the issue but then a sensor failed. I wwasn't able to get back in to the dealership for about two weeks and they sent the sensor back and had to reorder it. Apparently now its on back order and I'm still waiting. I learned a new thing while on a long drive over Christmas break. Either its a new issue or related to the sensor, but when I use cruise control, tapping or using the brakes does not turn it off like it should. Not a lesson you want to learn at 75 mph on a full two lane highway. I almost rear ended the car in front of me because as soon as I let off the brake my truck lunged forward to try and resume the set speed even though cruise control should have turned off as soon as touched the brake. It happened again when my girlfriend was driving. Using the brakes no longer turns off my cruise control, it can only be disabled using the button on the steering wheel. I love my truck but its tried to kill me twice now and the dealership seems to think that I'll get a sensor eventually but its not a big deal. Not really sure who I escalate this to since the dealership isn't taking it too seriously. To be fair, I haven't called them about the cruise control but that was the more worrisome issue since I had my daughter in the car and rear ending someone at that speed is a really bad day.
Any advice on how to escalate this would be greatly appreciated.

I'd start by calling the dealership and clueing them in to the issue with your cruise control. Not sure if the sensor is the cause of that issue, so you might want to let them know about it and get an appointment scheduled.
So I raised it all up to the dealership. They've now replaced my ActiveTrac (think thats what its called) twice since the original replacement. They also apparently replaced the ABS system along with some other things in the brake systems overall along with the sensor. They told me it was done last night so I asked if someone drove it and was assured they had. I stressed it again since the previous time they replaced, just a few days before, I was assured of that and I didn't even make it out of the lot before the sensor activated the alarm.
I drove an hour to the other side of town to pick it up and all I had to do was start it and hold the brakes for about a minute and the alarm went off again. I've raised it up to management at the dealership and they assure me they will get to the bottom of it and get it fixed but I'm beginning to wonder if that is even possible at this point. 3 sensors replace along with numerous other modules in the brake system including the master cylinder and brake booster which kickstarted this whole thing almost 7 months ago.
Does anyone know who you escalate to if the dealership doesn't get it fixed? At what point do they just replace the truck?
