I visited the dealer today to order a 2013 F-150. There was barely any ordering information available on the Ford Website so I asked the manager if they had any printable material that showed the new package options.

Here is what I was told:
1) The ordering banks for 2012 F-150's have closed. Only 2013's can be ordered now.
2) Some colors are no longer available in 2013. I was planning to order the Dark Blue Pearl color but that color has been replaced by the Blue Jeans Metallic color.
3) The HID headlights aren't available as a stand-alone option, you have to order them as part of a premium package only available in certain models. In my case I didn't want Nav and a Moonroof added JUST so I could get HIDs, so I had to pass on that option for my Lariat.

Those details are minor but the biggest part was the links available online that provides a lot more details on 2013 F-150 options. This was the part I wanted to share.

I hope this information is helpful, I know it helped me fill in the gaps trying to order a 2013 when the Ford f-150 interactive website wasn't available yet.

I don't understand how a base model $22k Mustang can have standard HIDs, but you can't do the same to an f-150 (or atleast make it a stand alone option to any trim).

No problem, I wish I had this info earlier myself, it would have saved me time at the dealership. I couldn't find anywhere else on this forum where this info was posted.

I was disappointed at the HID options too. You'd think they'd give you the option to just add that feature like most other items. I'm hoping that HID's can be adding afterwards from the Ford Parts Dept as an easy conversion and no additional wiring harnesses are needed for 2013 F-150's.

I tried to build a 2013 on the Ford website, but it only had 2012 trucks. Maybe because I was looking at the mobile page on my phone.

I really liked the Dark Blue Pearl, also. Based on the brochure, I'm not so sure about the Blue Jeans Metallic, but I guess I'll have to see it in person before making a final judgement.
