2013 F-150 Brake Squeal
I have a 2013 F-150 I bought the end of December 2012. When I reverse out of my garage each morning or out of a parking place after sitting there a couple of hours and apply my brakes, they squeal. They only do this in reverse, never when moving forward. I contacted my Ford dealer, Scarff Ford in Auburn, WA and was told by the service department that this was a common problem with the F-150 and that they don't think they can fix it. They did say I could bring the truck in, but that they have not been able to fix this problem on other trucks. I find it very annoying.
My question is: Has anyone else had this problem and if so, was your dealer able to correct it or were you told to 'live with it'?

Retired and loving it!
Does this only happen once in the morning....in other words, later in the day are you able to back up without this happening?
If this is the case, it is probably just humidity/condensation on the brake rotors causing slight rust on the rotors overnight, or while it sits in the rain or high humidity. The rotors, where the brake pads are applied is very bare metal that easily and quickly corrodes on the surface.
After washing my truck and pulling out of the driveway and backing up, I get a loud noise from the rotors as well as the rotors clean themselves....then for the rest of the day it's fine.

JayPat, my 2013 F150 does the same noise, it is annoying and doesnt do it when the brakes warm up a bit. There is a solution, its called putting better brake pads on the truck, Ford isnt gonna do that it costs too much. They will say theres nothing they can do because they know replacing the same pad will only replicate the same sound. The only way out is to put a higher end brake pad. Your dime though..
