2013 ecoboost turbo noise?
Lately during my morning commute, I have noticed that if I accelerate quickly to get on the freeway/ pass someone/ go off a sweet jump, there is a chirp noise that sounds like it is coming from the passenger side. It almost sounds like it's inside the cab.
the truck has 209k on it so anything is possible. Here's a video of the sound. Ignore the mud terrains:

any help is appreciated. I will put 400k on this truck if it lets me.

That sounds like what i just went through and it was the exhaust manifold leaking. Get a squirt bottle of soapy water and spray it on there and see if air bubbles are coming out by the exhaust manifold. Mine was only when cold and hitting the gas harder than normal. If I power braked it I could reproduce the sound sitting still as in the video
Here is my thread on it.

Thank you for the info! I crawled under there and I definitely have a warped manifold on the passenger side:
it also sheared off the end stud. Looks like I've got a new weekend job in the near future.

Boost :)
Just for my own info if you don't mind me asking, what all have you had to work on or fix or replace in the 209k miles? We don't hear of many going that many miles just yet due to how new they are so it would be nice to hear how one has done with that many miles if you don't mind

The truck has been great. The miles are 99.9% highway so the wear is nothing like what you would see in one that has really been worked for several years.
It has needed plugs, coils, two sets of tires and a set of brake pads. I repaired the coolant hose at the reservoir with the Pegasus kit, and replaced the brake master cylinder (but that was part of a recall).
Just now the real issues are happening. I will be replacing an exhaust manifold, and potentially a transmission in the next few months. I had the differential serviced yesterday after seeing the condition of my trans fluid. Surprisingly it has not yet needed wheel bearings.
Overall the truck has proven itself as reliable. It runs great, has a smooth and quiet idle, and looks new inside and out. People lose their minds when they see my odometer.

Ecoboost screeching noise
Just had the same problem on my 2013 ecoboost supercrew with 108,000 miles on a recent road trip.
I was praying to make it home and stopped right back at my dealer.
Tech said that there are some broken exhaust manifold studs on the passenger side of engine and they will try to extract today/ tomorrow.
I'm a bit upset that it's not covered on ESP warranty "broken bolts are not covered"
I'm interested if any other techs or forum members have seen this and or had success in Ford covering the repair - present estimate is about $1,400.

I'd think they would bill it as replacement of an exhaust manifold and not a bolt extraction...that is ultimately what they will be doing. I wouldn't think the dealership would care if you paid or ford esp paid as long as they got paid....
