2013 Brake Issues

2013 Brake Issues
I have a 2013 FX4 and am getting pulsing in the steering wheel and brake pedal when braking. It has been happening for a while and is getting worse. I assume this a problem with my brake system and specifically the rotors. I only have 30k miles on the truck. Is this something that is common for a truck with 30k miles? I know some of the 2013 and 2014 models have bigger brake issues but mine is not on the recall list but I am still concerned that something more than just common wear and tear is causing the issue. I have never pulled or hauled anything with the truck and only been in the mountains a couple of times.
What is the remedy for fixing this issue? Replace all rotors and pads? What can I expect to pay at the Ford dealer for this service. I do have an extended warranty but guessing I'm SOL on Ford fixing the issue under the warranty. I setup an appointment at the Ford dealer but they are booked 4 weeks out.
Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

Usually warped rotors.

Many owners have experienced this. Several have had Ford replace the rotors under warranty only to have them warp again. Many people recommend aftermarket rotors.
I have a '12 that I bought 2 years ago that had the same behavior. I've "ridden it out" but will be pulling the plug on aftermarket rotors and pads this fall and replacing them myself.

I have a '13 (35,366) as well and with the same pulsating brakes but not all the time. It's intermittent and that's what concerns me the most. With warped rotors, you'll feel it every time you brake. Mine happens about 70% of the time. I was afraid it could be my ABS but have not gotten any trouble codes. I had it in service last week for an oil change and they charged me $29.99 to road test it (?) and came to the conclusion that it is warped rotors. I paid for the Works Full Synthetic but did not need the tire rotation. Service Writer said because I wasn't getting the tire rotation, they have to charge me the Brake Inspection fee. That's BS! I guess I'll be doing my own oil changes for now on.
Oh btw... They wanted $220 +tax to turn the rotors! What a freakin joke!

I experience the same thing but only when I brake at higher speeds like 65-70. I don't notice anything when driving around town at lower speeds. I need new tires as I have about 43K on the pirelli's so I was going to get new rotors and pads on all four corners at that time. My assumption was they were warped.
Just trying to decide what kit to get for pads and rotors.

Mine have been shaking since mile 5000 or less actually, got a set of power stop rotors and as soon as the weather turns cool they will be going on and the Ford rotors in the scrap barrel at work. Turning them will just weaken them and they'll start shaking again.

Thank for the replies. Any idea if Ford will install some power stop rotors and pads. I would do it but don't have a good location to perform the work. If not Ford is there anyone who will install non OEM brakes? I think I will take it to Ford anyway to see if they will cover it under warranty or if they can find anything else that would be covered under warranty.

If the pads are still in spec warranty will pay for new rotors, at least they use to when I worked at Ford, been 12 years since I did so I don't know if that has changed.
My issue is why would I want them to put the same crap rotors on only to have to repeat the cycle? Screw that.
