Default 2013 6X9 install with Metra adpater?

Will these work on a 2013 SCREW? http://www.carid.com/universal-speak...s-4302212.html

Or is depth still an issue?

My fallback is installing 6.5" using a similar but different type of adapter.

Thanks in advance

The speaker size is 6x8. 6x9s won't fit.

Your link didn't work, but the Metra adapters work. I used them to install the Kenwood Excelons I put in all four doors.

Right, I know the size is 6x8, but these are 1.5" spacers that move the 6x9 up and away from the standard 6X8 mount to give it more room. I just didn't know if anyone had tried these or not. They were linked for a 2013 F-150 on the Metra site, but that site appears to be down now. Here is the only other link I could find: http://www.ebay.com/itm/METRA-82-4200-SPEAKER-ADAPTOR-TO-MOUNT-6X9-SPEAKER-INTO-5X7-OR-6X8-OPENING-/290992272810?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item43c07db5aa&vxp=mtr
The 6X9 Polk dbs rock in my boat. I wanted to drop those into the F150 if possible.

Thanks again

You can certainly get away with the 1.5" of space out away from the door. There is TONS of room on that side. As far as on the backside, I would certainly think the 1.5" should be enough for most speakers to fit and stay away from the window and track.

I'd love to know myself if this would work. I would love to put 6x9's in the truck. If you do decide to do this, please update this thread

Just to update this thread after having gotten some more information from Crutchfield and a few other sources.

For a SuperCrew you are looking at the following for maximum mounting depth:

Front: 2.82"
Rear: 2.4"

Adding a 1.5" spacer to the door frame would give you almost 4" in rear and well over 4" in front. Most 6x9's need 3.5-3.75" of clearance so these adapters should work just fine for what you want to do.

Wait, if the adapters give you 1.5" of extra space, and the you have 2.8" of front side mount depth, you are working with a total mount depth of 4.3".

So, make sure you speakers mount shallow than this.

Also, if you go through with it, please do update the board!

ugh, dont do 6x9's, 6x8's, etc. Stick with a solid 6.5" component set. They will blow the others away
