Howdy all!

After getting to work this morning I smelled a very strong odor of hot clutch. After work the AC was blowing hot air!

Looking at the compressor, looks like some black goo was thrown from the compressor clutch.

So my question, do I replace the clutch or should I future proof it and replace the whole compressor? <120K miles.

Replacing the clutch is doable.

 

After removal of the clutch hub plate, I have determined the compressor is locked up. Does not turn at all. Answers my question!
