2013 5.0 3.31 Fuel Economy - what it should be?
Just got this 2WD with 32,000 miles. It's quite cold natured, missing when starting out. But it's still got a wee bit of spongy feel in the pedal when warm.
I drive like a grandpa so no lead foot.
I'm using 87 no ethanol.
I'm getting 10.5 mpg in town - but lots of drive-thrus and stop lights, max speed 40.
Would seem like it should be better than that but possibly not.
Highway mileage is in the 20's so no problem there.
What should i try to improve my mpg or is that as good as can be expected?
It's got CPO coverage.

That sounds pretty normal to me. I have a 3.55 and get around 12mpg if I'm constantly in stop and go below 40mph. High teens highway. You waste a lot with stop and go, regardless of how you drive. 3.31 gears should be a little worse in town and better highway than me, which is what you described.
If it's sluggish you may want to clean the maf and throttle body, those are not cpo maintenance items they would have checked. Do you mean missing like actually misfiring? You shouldn't have plug issues, yet. But you could make sure they are gapped at about .050 or just under. Some of mine were up to .06 or more by 50000 miles and I had moments of roughness.

That doesn't seem unusual. I'll get roughly 10 MPG in downtown traffic (Pittsburgh) and roughly 14 MPG during my usual commute (50% highway, 50% suburbs). If I use a light foot and watch my speed, I can get about 18 MPG on long highway trips, so your highway MPG beats mine.

Keep in mind that the numbers I gave were the dash readings. Some people claim that theirs is way off from their actual fuel mileage. Mine seem to be +/- 0.5 MPG, which is pretty good IMO. I check my numbers periodically using actual fuel usage and odometer mileage. I also have a "calibrated" scantool that agrees with my dash readings for the most part.

That mileage is way too low, I have the same engine and gears but also have a 4" lift kit loads of other mods including 35x12.50x18 K02 BFG load range E tires (think heavier and more rolling resistance than stock) and I get 11mpg city with a custom race tune running 93.
Then again when my truck was still un-modified except for a custom tune I was getting 19/25 city/hwy. The custom tune brought it up to that, before the tune it was closer to 15/20 city/hwy.
