2013 3.5 Ecoboost Timing Chain Rattle/Slap FIXED!

I had the timing chain rattle around 30k miles on my 2013. I had it fixed under warranty, but now I'm at 45k miles and its back with a vengeance. My truck is now out of warranty since September (on the 5 years, not the 60k miles) and I'm wondering what my options are. I'm sure it's a costly repair to pay for out of pocket, since they had my truck for almost 2 weeks last time. Anyone have any suggestions? Think I have a leg to stand on since this was just done 15k miles ago and its back? Thanks in advance.

I would definitely run it by the dealer. Check and see if their warranty work is warrantied too (would think it would be?) If anything split some cost with you. Let me know what you find out...

Did they replace the phasers when the chains were done? Myphasers lasted about 20k after my chains were replaced. Always replace all 4 phasers when the chains are replaced.

Update - I found my paperwork from the first repair and I was still covered under the repair warranty (from the first go around). So I dropped the truck off, handed them the TSB and the receipt from the last time this repair was done and the dealership made the repair. I just picked the truck up Saturday (they had it around 2 weeks) and everything sounded and was running great. Started it on a cold start Sunday morning, still no issues. Went out to go to work this morning (Monday) and the rattle was just as bad as ever. I called the service advisor and left him a voicemail first thing Monday morning. He has yet to get back to me. I went through the receipt and looked at all of the parts they ordered to make sure everything was there. Looks like they never ordered the VCT's even though the TSB specifies them, and even though this is the 2nd time this truck has been in for this repair and it's under 46k miles. So needless to say I'm also contacting Ford Customer Service to see if there's anything I can do about possibly heading to another dealership. At this time they've had 2 tries and apparently are still taking shortcuts. I appreciate they information everyone. I'll let you know if I hear anything back.

This is a 2 day repair so the dealership is clearly communicating how important you are as a customer. I wonder if the phasers are now damaged by being loose. They’ll fight you for sure, but it might be worth the effort to get them replaced. Remember, after the third attempt you can declare it a lemon.

In Wisconsin it has to be during the first year to be a lemon.................anyway mine is in the shop and get this done tomorrow and the next day, should have mine done and on the road Thursday night!
And what do you mine by " YOU CAN DECLARE IT A LEMON "

Ill have to look up the lemon laws in Maryland. But what exactly does declaring it a lemon entitle me too? A certain amount of money back? I paid the truck off a couple years ago. Regardless, after calling Ford customer service they let me know that if I wanted too I could take it to another dealership to get the repair done. I still need to contact another dealer and discuss this with them however. I still have yet to hear from the dealership that just completed the repair.
