I installed mine last night. It took all of 10 minutes because I did not drop the head liner. As others suggested I took the antenna out of the bulky plastic casing and just shoved it under head liner.

Before I had trouble starting the truck from inside the house with the truck parked in the driveway. To test the fix it I parked the truck in the garage with the door open and walked to the end of my bay. As I walked I started and stopped it a few times. It worked every time. I got to the end of my bay when it finally ran out of range. Probably 8 houses away. Maybe 200-250 feet or so. So yes the range is MUCH better. Maybe not what the 200 series or an aftermarket system but it is MUCH improved! Not bad for the price.

I checked with the dealer about covering it under warranty if I had installed the remote start myself. They said no. Ford would only cover it if the remote start was installed by the dealer before I took possession of the truck.

Little late to the party on this comment. I replaced the batteries in both fobs, and it was a Very Noticeable difference in range and lock/unlock quickness.
Mine were almost a year old.

I've been testing distances with mine also, and I gained about another 250-300 feet as well.
