Default 2012 Pricing

Any tips or tricks to talk a dealer down to getting a truck as close to invoice pricing as possible? I am currently looking at getting a 12 FX4 SCrew 5'5 with the 5.0L. Options are Lux package, FX appearance pkg, Nav, and backup camera. MSRP is ~55,000 and currently there is $9000 in incentives. Any idea what I could talk them down to? With tax and everything after incentives it is $49,664.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mac, welcome to the site. With the advertising fees (we all pay) the closest you will probably get to invoice (as we see on KBB & Edmunds) is approx. $500 over. Usually it's around the fair maker price you see on www.kbb.com. Then subtract the inecntives you are eligible for. Good luck.

Remember, some dealers add all the incentives together to get those pretty sale price numbers we see in the papers, and on the net. When you get to the dealer usually you won't qualify for all. I've seen some say "Up to $10,000" off all F150,s, when actually everyone falls into the "up to" part of that.

Do your research and get a number you fill comfortable with and stick to it. If they want the business they play along. If not, take your business down the road.

Yeah I figured it would be somthing like that, I actually used the website "unhaggle.com" and it gave me the invoice pricing on the truck and options, so I calculated it out and would be looking at 39,500 at dealer cost (+freight/AC/Tax etc). Do you think walking in with that printout would help or is it somthing that they would put their back up with.

How are they getting to 55K? That truck shouldn't be more than 50K at most. Look at this one on eBay it has an Ecoboost and that adds to the price. MSRP of this truck is 49,215.00

Every dealer has a right to sell you the vehicle for what they want to. If you are set on paying invoice - rebates than find a dealer that will do it, there are plenty of them around the nation.

I am also located in Alberta, Canada, our prices are a touch higher than down in the US from what I have seen.

My salesman quoted me at $42,490 for a $56k list a couple weeks ago. Depends on the salesman I guess.

Biggest tip - be ready to walk away from the deal.
