I'm debating on whether or not to post these pictures on the dealerships Facebook page since they haven't done anything to help me and say that they can't. The sales staff was nice, but this crap should have been caught at the dealership or even sooner. The salesman and some of the other staff are members of this forum. The regional rep and the bitchy lady from Ford both told me that they'd call me back on Friday and I never heard from either of them.

I went to two local dealerships and they didn't want to do anything because I didn't buy it from them. They'd do warranty work, but that's it. They aren't going to replace it for me. There's no way in hell the paint would match if they repainted the truck. Since you know a lot about painting I have a question. Around the back window on the cab where there's orange peel there are dark spots in the paint that are kind of transparent. What would that be?

just a note, the insurance in b.c. is not provided by the goverment of canada but by the b.c. govement hence the high cost,no choice,i can tell you from experiene that the same coverage is more reasonable in alberta, private insurance.

Another question...why do you believe that there's "no way in hell they would match" the paint of your truck?
Is it because of the way the dealership has treated you, and you assume the body shop to act the same way? Or do you believe that, in general, there is no way that anyone can match the color?

That's exactly what it is. A transparent spot in the paint. You have a red truck. Most red colors can be very transparent.

I did not see where he said they couldn't match the "color". Maybe he is talking about the orange peel?

Yes, I mean it'd be hard to get all the orange peel to match a spot that looks like glass. The entire truck is covered in orange peel just like the pictures I posted. There are some spots that are worse, but I couldn't get my camera to take the picture. I have a Canon T3i and if it's not in focus it won't take the picture. I need to try it on manual focus I guess. I don't use it very often (it's my wife's) so I'll have to figure it out.
