Just to clarify myself. I have been in contact with him many of times. He is a great guy to do business with. It is the pig tails for the new lights that is the holdup. It seems they are on back order all the time. Nothing he can do anything about.

I don't understand why they're on backorder. Ford uses the plugs on a/c clutches and other parts on various vehicles. I got mine within a week. National Fleet Parts had to order them. The markup on the pigtails is huge. The lady I ordered from said that they order them from a local dealership and I paid $18. The dealerships sell them for $32 or so. The dealership has to be making something on it and the place I ordered from is making a profit also or they wouldn't be selling them.

Yep, I had to wait twice. Once because the pigtails were on the way and then a second time because my order got "missed" when that set came in. Once the next set of pigtails came in, my stuff got shipped. Joseph always responded after an email or two. If you don't get him the first time within 24 hours, ping him again. He's going on vacation in February though so get your orders in now if you're thinking about it.

This is an expensive upgrade but to me it was worth it.

FYI don't paint the edges of the taillights. It's a PITA! The damn paint won't stick in some spots. I've sanded the hell out of the lights and applied some bulldog adhesion promoter. I used tar and grease remover also, but its not helping. I'm ready to take my anger out on the lights by smashing them!

I have a set of the black HIDS in my garage also awaiting a harness...ordered early December

I heard from Joseph this past Monday. Pigtails were supposed to be in his hands this week according to his supplier but......

I'll be reaching out to him this weekend for an update

Thanks for the info everyone. Looks like I need to order the harness now since I plan to upgrade in March or April ... trying to pay off my last credit card and then on to modding the truck a bit. Thanks again!!!!

OP - nice name and I'm deamin' for one as well ... 6 more years of truck payments ... LOL!

I've got an '82. Had a '99 but sold it. Next will probably be an '09.

Just an update on the HIDs . . .

Took my truck in for inspection today (Virginia) and the inspector advised me that after August 1st they're taking a much closer look at the HIDs people are installing and failing them if the ballast box doesn't say SAE/DOT on it. I explained that my HIDs were OEM and that everything was fine... yada, yada, yada... and he let me go but told me I'd probably get harassed each time I got it inspected. I figure once they continue to inspect the 2013+ models with HIDs they'll just forget about it.

Fortunately the Morimoto box that comes with the harness was out of sight so he couldn't tell if it said DOT on it or not.

It's hard to see the ballasts on most headlights. On my wife's VW you have to remove the front bumper, grill, and remove the headlights to see the ballasts.
