I hear yah... I did mine a month ago and haven't looked back since!!! 10x better light output...

If I can bear to do without them for a week I'm gonna have TuxedoBlack add the Halos to my oem HID's, like he did on the last pic 2013 black FX4...

Crappy Halogen's...

Oem Hid's...

2013 FX4 oem Hid's w/ Halo's installed as DRL's...

I just finished installing the oem HID's on my 2012. I decided to make my own harness and it was fairly easy. I spent about $80 making my own.

If you spent $80 then the extra $35 for Tux's harness is VERY worth it! But I have to say, kudos to you. While I was waiting I thought exactly that... maybe I'll just make my own and be done with it. Fortunately, Tux got the pigtails and it arrived before I took on yet another project I don't have time for . . .

Now... to install that back up camera...

Looks good. I have a couple of those sitting in my shop waiting on the harness. I'm really glad to hear output performance is so much better with the hids. I hate driving my truck at night right now in the rain etc...

It really wasn't hard to make the harness. If anyone want the info on how to do it just let me know.

Parts needed:
H13 relay harness from The Retrofit Source
2 WPT925 pigtails (Cheapest I found was NationalFleetPart.com)
2 inline fuses from Radio Shack
Wire loom from Lowe's (I bought 3/8" I believe)
Wire (I used 16 gauge and bought it on eBay in 50' rolls, but I use wire for other stuff very often)
Solder & soldering iron
Heat shrink tubing
Electrical tape (I prefer Super 33+ 3M tape)

pin 4 connects to the ground wire (I ran a wire from pin 4 on each light to the relay and soldered them both to a single wire that I ran to the battery ground)
pin 3 connects to the red wire on the projector harness
pin 2 connects to the wires that are added and runs to the battery positive (I ran a single wire from pin 2 on each headlight to the relay harness and connected each to an inline 20 amp fuse. I soldered the two inline fuse wires into a single wire and ran it to the battery positive terminal)
pin 1 connects to the red wire on the ballast harness

I have a set of the oem lights in my spare bedroom. All I need is the harness. I have been waiting since the beginning of December. I am glad I am not the only one waiting.

I find it hard to believe I emailed him with my phone number and he contacted me that same day, Joseph's a great guy with awesome customer service, Im sure he's just extremely busy with making the harness's as well as all the hid retrofits he does, try again...
