Default 2012 headlights really that bad??

Im due to pick up a 2012 today or tomorrow but before I do I need to know are the headlights that bad. I mean is it really worth it to spend around $1000 to convert to HIDS?

I live in DFW so road lighting isnt really an issue. But I sure do see alot of yall switching over to HID's.

I have never had HID's so I dont know how great they are but Im coming from a 99 2 door Tahoe and I had no issues driving at night. Even when I would drive from Ft worth to Lubbock (West Texas), which is pitch black at night, I didnt have any issues seeing.

No, the OEM ones are fine for normal driving. I have a 12 and my headlights in it are the best of my three cars by far. Lot of people are getting hid as its just another custom thing that can be done and the lights are much better

I thought they were horrible, i switched to silverstar ultra bulbs and light output is decent now.

I'm 66 and have no problem seeing everything at night with my stock headlights in my 2011 FX4. They are just as good as the ones in my 2004 FX4 I traded in and all of my previous trucks. The HIDs are brighter but In my opinion they are more of a want than a true need. They look cool and there is nothing wrong with spending the money for them if that is what a person wants but they are not really needed.

get a plug n play set of HID's (4300k or 5000k) and aim them correctly IMO

The stock headlights are good and the hids are more of a looks factor like stated above I want them after I drove my dads car that has them because I drive in the dark where there are no street lights a lot

My '11 has weak headlights and back up light's compared to the '04 I had. I noticed it right off the bat and so did a lot of other people on here.

The current Ram ( had one ) has incredibly bad headlights (another reason not to have one). The current F150 is just fine.

I changed mine right away I put PIAA Extreme 4000's for head light and fogs...huge difference they went from yelloe to a bright white.......and wider angle....

I love them now and added rigid floods for my nite driving lights.....which are great in the mountians and curves......
