^^^ don't know how much to put into the statement must be something else not being told. Must be a trade or down payment 15k less than sticker including tax and title which would make it more like 17-18k off just don't see it happening.

FWIW OP, if you really want a new truck, I would wait it out until the 2012's have more rebates to eat your potential negative equity or keep your truck.
I've seen fully loaded FX4's with all options sticker for very high 40s, and with $4,250 in rebates (includes the $1k if you finance with Ford) plus another $3-4k off sticker, you're realisticly looking at very high 30's, low 40's OTD.
I don't put a lot of stock in "My truck stickered for $54k and I only paid $30k". There's room for haggling, but there's not THAT much room, so I'm calling BS on some of these prices. I feel like I got a fair deal for my Platinum Screw EB, but I won't tell you I got $15k off sticker because that would be crazy. Granted, I did find a 2012 4x2 with a 3.31 axle (no limited slip) and a 5.0L V8 that I could get for $39k that no one wanted. However, that's a rare case.
If I were you, I'd keep my 2010 and be happy. It's not worth the extra $ in sales tax, $1,000 easy, and the $3k - $4k you'll eat in negative equity that you'll be paying for during the ENTIRE loan of the new truck. An extra $5,000 for new car smell and a couple of additional features? No thanks.

im tryin to think without goin to the truck n look
sticker was 52k and otd was 41,xxx i did trade in a 4k car which off set the taxes
then 4200 in rebates so i got around 6k off sticker if my math is right
i called a couple of dealers and none would beat that price and only 1 would meet it but wouldnt throw in a hard bed cover ... so i went back the next day and bought it

^ exactly. I know I'm "new" here, but I've been buying new cars for a while, 4 were Ford products. I know there's lots of profit margin in trucks, but no new car deal is giving away trucks for $15k off sticker. This isn't 2008.
Dealers can go maybe a hair below invoice, everything else is rebates or they're going below invoice on a bastard truck that no one wants (i.e. Platinum 4x2 5.0L V8 with a non limited slip 3.31 axle) Basically, a RWD luxury sedan on stilts with a truck bed capable of home depot runs on Sundays.
Great day in the morning guys. If you can show me a F150 for $50k sticker that I can buy for $32k OTD, show me right now and I'll buy it cash.

I bought my 2012 FX4 on Friday. MSRP was $50,190. Invoice was $45,615. (If you use invoice price from Edmunds or others, they don't include local advertising fees and fuel - both of which are on the official invoice.) In SoCal for the 4th of July weekend, I got the following rebates: $2K Consumer rebate + $1K Financing with Ford + $1K Conquest Lease (showed lease of a non-Ford vehicle) = $4K Total rebates. Unfortunately, in California all of the rebates come off AFTER all the taxes and license fees have been computed.

This falls into dammed if you do, dammed if you don't territory. The selection for 2012's gets worse everyday you wait. So if you are picky, I would buy soon. If you aren't dead set on specific options or colors, then wait till fall. You will get a better deal the longer you wait... But the truck you are eyeing up may get sold if you wait too long.
