Default 2012 Ford F150 Extremely Loud Radiator

Okay, so I have a problem on my hands. For the past 3-4 days I noticing my radiator starts running really really loud, I keep checking my engine temp and it either stays in the middle of cold and hot or just above middle towards hot.

What can this be?

I already checked the coolant levels and they are OK.

I am thinking its the water pump or the thermostat?

Any ideas?

The sound is probably the electric fans running at full speed. I just had the same problem with my 2012. The mechanic thought it was a bad high pressure monitor. They replaced it only to find out that wasn't the problem. So then they thought it was what I think they called the flex valve - the valve that changes the high pressure coolant charge to low pressure. Lucky for me they would have had to order the part and couldn't do the work that day. Since I needed my truck the next morning they put the refrigerant back in and lo and behold the fans started working normally again.

I don't know what the monitor would have cost since I didn't have to pay for it but replacing the valve would have been $380.

Good luck!

2012 5.0, engine cooling fans have never been loud until recently. Initially fans run quiet and then get loud to the point where you can hear it in the cab. Standing in front of truck sounds like a tornado, I must say you can feel the air flow. Engine temp normal. Thought I would service the A/C first. Any thoughts before I head to the garage and spend money on what could be an easy fix?

It sounds like the same issue I described in my post above. Mine sounded like a tornado also and I could definitely hear it in the cab. Annoying as hell. And to clarify a little more, it went from quiet to loud within 10 seconds of cold start up. If I understood the mechanics correctly it was an AC problem.

My 2012 truck just started to do this too. My fans are running at high speed and doesn't go back to low speed. One small note here, I just replaced the water pump. It was an easy job. But I'm starting to wonder if I messed something up when I removed and replaced the water pump. I filled and bled the coolant system, but I'm starting to think I still have air in the system. My coolant temp gauge also stays in the middle, but I can see the needle rocking back and forth about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch when i'm driving it. What are your thought?

This is most likely a problem with the AC system as I believe one of the above posters tried describing. The computer sees that one of the sides of the AC system is too high so it tries to bring it down by moving air over the condenser. It's really a problem with the AC expansion valve.

I checked the coolant level after driving it around till it got to operating temperature. The level is at the full mark when I stopped.
