I would never do this. If you have to sit in deep snow or something for a while, the exhaust could be trapped under the truck and start seeping into the cab.

I'd say about 3/4". I put just enough washers in that I couldn't see any threads coming out the back side of the bolt once tightened down. If it's too narrow, it makes somewhat of a farting sound..like pffffh pffffh pfffffh. If you'll notice, there are 3 or 4 new washers on there...I just added those today cause the gap was too narrow and it didn't sound quite how I wanted it to. Once I added those washers, it took away the farting sound. My neighbor has a 5.0 Mustang with a full Roush Exhaust and my wife says she absolutely cannot tell the difference between him and I...every time he comes home she thinks it's me...keeps her on her toes

Yep! Although, you probably aren't sitting in deep snow very often in Texas. Probably never.

Wish I didn't have to deal with snow myself.

Sounds amazing! Would this be possible to do on an ecoboost? Interested!

This mod is also not for me, but I can see the appeal in having a cheap exhaust. Sounds nice...if a little redneck. You can easily tell that either someone took a sawzall to the pipe somewhere, or did this.
