Millions of people run dumped exhaust systems and it's perfectly fine. Redneck, absolutely, but that ain't really a bad thing

And the above is completely unbiased because I'd never do it to my own truck, except temporarily until I changed muffler or something. I have an expensive full 304 stainless exhaust from the headers (including headers) all the way back. But guess what? That costs (quite literally) 1/1000 as much and still sounds pretty darn good for 95% of people.

So I say good mod It's basically free and there's literally no downside and it's completely reversible.

I like the idea. It's especially good for someone like me who isn't sure about modifying the exhaust. My truck is my daily driver and I've been considering maybe replacing the muffler with something with a little more bark. But I'm not sure.....

So tomorrow I'm going to give this a try and SEE if I can handle the sound of a modified exhaust system. If I don't like it, I can undo it in 20-30 mins...

The beauty if this is that your not completely removing the pipe so I expect that it should be quieter than a cut off muffler. And I won't have to deal with the regret of spending $1-200 on an exhaust system I don't like...

That sounds great, but that set up wouldnt pass our state inspection. We would have to remove and reinstall every time it was inspected, but I like your ingenuity

^that's the point. Inspections are once a year and it takes 5 minutes to change back.

Yup, best reversible mod you can do to an 11+, and you could probably do it right before the cats on the 04-08 5.4s too where they have the same flanges haha. A can a plastidip can't touch an exhaust mod lol.
