Default 2012 Flip down console/seat

I've only been able to locate 3 trucks in my area that have the true bucket seats with stand alone center console. My question is to the folks that own the flip down console. Is it possible to remove the headrest from the center seat? In all the pictures I've been able to locate I can't tell if a person can do this or not. I sat in one the other day and forgot to check on it. Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure u can, but if u want the center console with bucket seats, I recommend u find a truck with it. Yeah, it's nice having that extra seat sometimes, but in reality, I'll probably use maybe 3 or 4 times throughout the life of the truck. The storage compartment sucks big time too! If ur like me and don't plan on using that extra seat, get the console. You'll regret not getting a truck with it in the future if u end up getting one with the jump seat.

You can remove the headrest. It takes about ten seconds.

yes it is verry easy to remove. i really enjoy my jumpseat even over the console, its a bit higher than the console i believe, seemed to have more elbow room with the console, unless i flip the seat up!

Great. I appreciate all the replies. I'm going to test drive a couple tomorrow. The 2 I'm going to drive have each stand alone and the flip down. Guess I'll make a choice on which one is more comfortable.

I've been searching around also for a new XLT and really like the large console with the bucket style seats over the folding jump seat set up. The console looks a whole lot better and has a much bigger storage area and hard surface top vs. the cloth which will get stained (coffee) in no time. Problem is as stated it seems very few trucks on the lots have this. It would also be nice if the gray seats were a bit darker without going to the fx4. Just my two pennies.

You could always add leather and center console after purchasing truck. Does the '12 offer leather as an option. I know the '10 did not.
