Default 2012 f150 platinum

So i was driving normally and hit a pot hole and after a bit i lost all steering and the wheel spin freely 360 spinning. I got it tow home and want under it and the tire rods likes fine I think it might be the steering rack but i don't know which one electric or hydraulic
If any one can help that would be helpful.

Electric steering.

Sounds like one of your steering shafts disconnected. There's 3 knuckles (attachment points)

1. Beside the dipstick:


2. Further down that shaft it attaches to the steering unit.



3. There's a third knuckle under your dash. Self explanatory if you stick you head down there.

There's lots of youtube video's for reference if you have to re-attach it. Don't free spin your steering wheel, there's a gear or clock spring something or other in there that will get wrecked.

Because only the 6.2l engine came with hydraulic.

True, but the chances of the plat being a 6.2 is very low, if they want more info, they're gonna have to pony up actual information.
