Is this a good deal on a F150? Are there maintenance issues with the 2012 that a prospective owner should be aware of? I'm driving a 2001 F150 now and have since 2005 but I have no idea as to current valuations or maintenance issues.

Thank you in advance, Mike

I didn't make it clear that I am looking for advice in anticipation of purchasing this truck. I am not selling.

That seems like a pretty good deal. I'd take the vin to a dealer and see if they can give you any warranty/ service history on it just to make sure it has not been a problematic truck. There may be a reason it's priced at that.

Update: Did as much due diligence as I could to feel comfortable (1.5 hrs), called to request CARFAX, truck sold yesterday, of course. Thank you for your input, Jared. Will try again.

You got very lucky!! Stay away from the ecoboost... only own one if it is within a full warranty. It is just not worth the pain and frustration.

I would have scooped that up quick. I bought my 2011 FX4 with 130k miles for 15k.

Luckily mine is the 5.0 V8... Which I do prefer over the ecoboost but to each their own.

I agree completely, I own an Eco and would never buy another. Pain and frustration is right.

There are thousands upon thousands of trouble free EB's out there, my two included. 100k plus miles is nothing to worry about. There is a TSB out there for a rattling at start up issue that is pretty involved and expensive so I would check and verify that it was done. If not, start it up after it has been sitting for 8+ hours and see if it makes any noise. If it doesn't, then no worries.

Also take the negative nancy posts with a grain of salt. You will find that some people on this site use it to say whatever they can to be negative about the EB. Do your own research and you will find that the vast majority of people who own it, have zero issues to speak of.
