Beauty of a truck man. Love the grille lights, might steal your idea haha. Do you have them wired up to a switch? Or do they just come on with the truck? I'm thinking they might be a little illegal if on during driving.
And to address your concern of HID's you are absolutely correct. An HID bulb in a stock housing sends stray light all over the place, resulting in lost output for you as well as (and more importantly) insane glare for other drivers on the road. If you want to do HID, I would suggest a retrofit service. There are a couple dudes on the forum who do it, but I like Bilinvic's work the best from what I've seen. if you have any questions feel free to ask

they do not blind oncoming and they are actualy a soft effect as you don't see the actural LED just the effect off the interior of the engine bay.
that and i drove behind a cop yesterday for a good 2 -5 km lol :P
please tell me more about the HID retrofits!

They would definitely be illegal in the U.S. as you can not have blue lights on a non emergency vehicle while its in motion.

Ahhh yeah that should be ok then. LEDS can be tricky to photograph.
I hope a cop doesn't mistake it now too but its not on all the time so its good
