I have a 2012 Ford F150 Lariat and the remote start will turn the truck on but if I push the button to turn the truck back off using the remote start button it won't turn off the truck. My original vehicle key will turn it off if I push the button but this particular key will not do so. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.

You answered your own question. Obviously the other key is bad/defective. Typical if you bought an aftermarket key, they're hit or miss mostly miss.

How long you had that particular key? could be defective could be the battery in the key
