Question 2012 F150 ecoboost - gas mixing with oil problem

Good Day ....

I have been having numerous problems with my 2012 f150 ecoboost. Besides the misfiring (come to live with) and transmissiom shuttering constantly, the main issue now is gas is mixing into my oil. I have had It too the dealer 5 times and they basically have said they don't know want to do and need to hear from Ford Canada. They refuse to give me a loaner vehicle and told me not to drive my truck since there is gas in the oil.

Has anyone else expericed this problem? Im absolutely fed with this vehicle as it only has 18,000 km and has been in the shop a total of 7 times . I called and complained to Ford Canada, but that goes nowhere. I'm concerned now as I have driven the vehicle with a large amount of gas mixed in with the oil. The Long term effects I am sure can not be good !!

Is there any advice out there ? Does ford help customers replace lemon vehicles? As I am in Canada and we have no laws to protect against these type of problems.

Thanks !!!

I will admit that I have no idea.

But how did they find that there was gas in the oil. What were the symptoms?

Direct injection engines like the eco are known for gas in oil after about 5000 miles. That is the major reason extended drain intervals are not recommended. Question is, how excessive is the contamination in yours.

Can you get a sample and send it in for independent analysis to a place like Blackstone labs. Only costs about 20 usd.

I had a 98 f150 that ford Canada eventually took back, it had a horrible vibration in 3rd gear. It was a lease though.

I told the dealer that I was going to put in vinyl letters on the tailgate "ask me about this defective vehicle from Oakland Ford" That seemed to light a fire under their ***. LOL

I think to tell you that you can't drive it with no solution in sight constitutes good grounds for lemon law.

If it is under warranty and they tell you not to drive it they GOT to provide you with another vehicle to drive. You need to go to the district rep and demand a vehicle until they make your vehicle drivable. You could also fall back on the Lemon Law in most states.

Gas in the oil generally has to do with leaky fuel injectors dumping gas into the engine after shut down. Can also cause you truck to run rich. Black stone labs gets an oil sample from me at least every other oil change, tells you a lot about engine health and can help in extended service oil changes if your into that and also want them to do a TBN test extra $$$. I don't do that often as I like to change mine at 3-4.5k as oil is cheap compared to rebuilding/replacing engines. First thing I would do is change oil take a sample in any clean container have black stone send you sample jar (free). Put oil in and send it to them with check or cc info. By the way I don't work for no profit from black stone. Just think that oil is good for engine and if you know how your oil looks after a change it tells you lots about your engine and can let you fix it before it to expensive.

Curious as to how many oil changes you have done to the truck?

Could also be injectors sticking open too long during operation.
This causes cylinder washdown which can ruin your cylinder walls. You lose compression/power and eventually need a rebuild of the bottom end.

I plan on doing frequent oil changes. Oil life says 70% at 4500km and I'll change the oil when it gets down to 50%. Cheap insurance

As far as how much gas is in the oil, it gets to the point where the engine light is on, the truck will not idle, black smoke and when you check the dip stick the oil is so diluted it's like water.!

I have had only 2 oil changes which I have paied for but the dealer has done 3 more under warranty due to the gas problem.

They have changed the injectors and the high pressure fule pump without any success..
