Default 2012 F150 Eco 4x4 questions

I just bought a 2012 Ford F150 4x4 Eco Platinum 37K miles. LOVE IT!
Sold my lifted 250 gas (my ocd and age 38 can't handle the rattles and 10.5MG

Anyway, I know I can sift through 10K posts, but I will just ask again.
If this offends you, please don't bother posting.
If you don't mind sharing repeat information THANK YOU!

#1 Getting the studder, lost power, and funny sound while accelerating. Called dealer, they said they know exactly what it is and have a fix. The MPG seems a bit low 17 on highway, thinking the problem is affecting the MPG. The first day I had it, it was not acting up, and was getting a little over 20MPG on highway at 75. THoughts on this?

#2 Want to add a Sub to the Sony 700 watt system. Just a little more base will really bring out the sound. What is in that box under my back seat that says 700 watt sony? I have the amp and 2 - 10" I took out of my other truck, but thinking to leave that factory box, and just add a Hi/Lo and one sub and amp. Thoughts here?

#3 Will the Bully Dog computer adjustment help MPG or just power? Had it on my old F250 diesel, and it helped gas and power. Thoughts here?

Thanks all in advance!

I can't help you on the sub issue....but yes, there is a TSB to address the stuttering and stumbling issue (12-10-19 is the number, I think). Your dealer should be aware of that and have him order the needed parts.
If you search "bullydog" here you may have the information you need to make an informed choice on using this kind of tuner. Here is an example:

stay away from bully dog.

17 on highway is not abnormal and has to do with the speed you are traveling.

The dealer fix from what I understand solves the problem but greatly reduces the power of the truck.

That box you have under the seat IS the sub. You'll need to add a separate amp and a different sub if you want more than what you have, the stock amp isn't capable of producing much punch anyways and the enclosure isn't helping at all.

If a little tweak is all you need, you could try the Polyfill Trick on the sub box.

After getting the TSB done on our truck, I did notice a moderate loss of power for the first couple of hundred miles......I think that the computer has to learn some things again after the reflash that is included in the recall.
After hammering the truck a couple of times (nothing like a good Italian tune-up) and putting 500 miles on the truck, the power seems to be fully restored now.

Yes I get 17 on the highway going 70 so thats not abnormal. Ive heard that people had problems with the bullydog tuners. People seem to like the tunes from livernois. The shudder is a recal issue. Not sure about the sub but yeah I wish it was somewhat noticable but yeah it's not. Good luck!

I have a 2012 F150 Screw EcoBoost 4x4, without the update. The 12-10-19 has been updated, see: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Fo...sb13-03-03.htm

I have never had the issue of studdering, and I'm at 16,000 miles. I live in North East Mississippi, and we have had a lot of rain, so I think I would have had some symptoms. Also drove up to Indianapolis, IN, for Christmas. I've towed a 5500lb trailer, all without any problems.
I installed the Livernois Tuner a few weeks ago. It's awesome! I've run the 93 Octane Performance, 89 Performance, and the 91 Octane Tune. The improvement in throttle response and downshifting is great. The power is nice too. I also put a cold air intake from them in. You can hear the turbo through the intake, but not real loud.
I've had various mileage reports. I've logged 22mpg going up the Natchez Trace at 55mph. Overall Highway seems to be 17-18. In town, 14-16, depending on my foot. It actually didn't go down with the 93 Octane Performance Tune, and I gave her hell a few times. So it may actually have improved it some.

Thanks everyone for the responses!
And to you Schulzie, I did zero research on the Eco (my fault here) On impulse I traded my F250 for this truck and it drove great for the 2 days on demo. The last day I had it before I actually bought it I drove it to San ANtonio (25 or so miles one way) and it was getting 20-21 on the highway at 70, it was pouring rain that day, and from then on it started the studdering. Until you said rain, I didn't know that was part of the problem.

Not doing Bully Dog
Pulling the sub, adding my two 10" I had in my other truck.

ENJOYING THE HELL OUTA THE SMOOTH RIDE

Have a appointment Monday at Ford
