I recently picked up a 2012 5.0. 123k miles. 1 owner. Zero service records. Doesn’t seem to been maintained but runs great. No knocking that I can hear. Very happy with it

2012 with the 5.0 & 3.73's here, no complaints.

Well, I struck out on the EB as it sold last night. The search continues... will take a look at the other truck if it hasn't sold. I'm 0-2 now!

I faced the exact same decision in January 2016. Two identical trucks, one Coyote and one EgoBoost. I ended up going with the Coyote because:

A) Slightly less money to purchase
B) Showed better MPGs after being driven on the same circuit
C) Has a track record of being far more reliable
D) Much better throttle response and just more fun to drive in general

Since you are going to be driving this truck around town all the time, the Coyote makes even more sense for you because the EgoBoost issues of carbon buildup on the valves and condensation in the intercooler will likely be even more pronounced.
