Question 2012 Ecoboost question

Hey guys, Im kind of new to the ecoboost motor for the F150's, I ordered a 2012 F150 Ecoboost FX4 with the Appearance package (color black), with the Max tow 3.73 rear end. I can't wait for the truck to be completed from the factory and in my driveway. In the meantime, is there anything I should know about the motor/truck? Pro's and cons? I'm coming off a 6.0 Powerstroke, decided i'd try something new.

You will be amazed at the power and torque. You won't be disappointed, and there is nothing to worry about. Just enjoy the anticipitation, and don't fret over things you might hear.

The one of many things I love about the truck is how quiet it is. I have 2 labs and when they're in my garage they don't even hear the truck back in the driveway till I get out and close the door! I have cars for that v8 grumble, I like this one quiet. You will love it, it's a well thought out truck. Enjoy!

I couldn't agree more. I've only had my 2012 EB for a couple of weeks now, but I'm amazed at how quiet it is idling and on the road. In fact, I've had to glance down a couple of times once I've started to and look at the gauges to make sure it was running.

I drove one today and have to agree....that is one of the most quiet trucks yet. Performance was very good too.

If you are ordering with Max Tow, you must be towing.
You will be amazed how easily that little V6 can tow a heavy load.

Best truck I've ever owned. Just don't complain about the mileage...it can get over 20...but mine rarely does 'cause it's just too much fun.

Nice choice I ordered the same dang thing and it should be coming in any day now.

Thank god your in IL and i'm in IN or there would be twin trucks running the town! LOL

Your gonna love the truck. I loved my 97 when I bought it back then. Been out of the truck game for awhile but cannot WAIT to jump back in with this truck!

I'm thoroughly impressed with the EcoBoost, aside from highway mileage. City mileage is great. I seem to get about 17 mpg (US mpg) whether I am in town or on the highway.
9 mpg when towing.
The towing performance however, is exceptional so long as you remember it is only a 1/2 ton. I don't just mean acceleration; the handling, braking and general feeling of control are all first rate.

So, IMO: The only cons are the exhaust note and the fuel economy, but I tend to drive 120 km/h (~75 mph) on the highway when not towing. Everything else is a pro!

LOL regarding the dogs. My dogs rarely hear me pull into the garage either. My wife's Infiniti's V6 rouses them every time.
