And id be damn proud of that too...................

Next step is to run those part numbers online on one of the Ford OEM parts discounters........ you can probably get that tank much cheaper.

Tousley is cheaper.

And because of the triple witching of annual tax, estimated tax and property tax, Eric is poor.

Anyway, I talked to Tousley Ford in MN who has aggressive prices online on the phone to confirm a comparison between 2012 and my 2011 VINs (both EB 4x4 157" WB).

Correction: the filler neck part number should be CL3Z9034A, not BL3Z9034B.

Prices from Tousley Ford are
  1. 36 gallon fuel tank 9L3Z9002C $397.18
  2. Sending unit 9L3Z9A299F $38.30
  3. Filler neck CL3Z9034A $40.57
  4. Heat shield BL3Z9A032A $57.29
Summed: $533.34

Everybody feel free to donate to the "Eric needs a bigger gas tank" fund.
stop using 44% more natural gas than your 'efficient' neighbors and you'll have that tank in a mere 3.05 years. (FWIW, I wish natural gas was available where I live. At $1.50 a therm its a lot cheaper than $4/gallon for oil plus I could use a condensing gas boiler that is more efficient)

I will say, the 36 gallon tank is nice to have when I travel to my inlaws. gas is always 20-30 cents more per gallon up there and this way I can at least make it back to where the price is more sane before fueling.

Would love to swap tanks, but that's a lot of coin. Only time I need it is extended camping trips. Most of our camping is within 200 miles. But we go to myrtle beach once a year - would be nice to only have to fill up once on the trip. Regular driving it's not needed.

I wonder what their point is to save fuel? Everyone have the same house? Around these parts they do just the opposite. Have propane with a tank rental. I get a fancy thermostat that can lower the temp when not home and at night. Save some fuel but they send me a bill that tells me I didnt use enough and double my rental fee. I get the best of both worlds its colder and pay more. Needless to say have a fancy thermo that isnt that fancy anymore other than telling me how much I use
