Default 2012 backup camera

I have looked for a while but can’t find definitive info on this. My backup camera works sometimes and other times it is the blue screen and nothing. I would love to be able to have an idea of what could be wrong with it. If it needs the wiring cleaned and lubed that is fine but I can’t find any photos/info on this for my 2012. If the issue is the camera then I may look into replacing it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I believe that there was a recall for the rear camera. Check your VIN

not really sure they are still issuing recalls on 14 year old back up cameras...

this is a know problem with our trucks. most likely it's the camera itself going bad. you can buy new factory from a dealer (if still available) or go aftermarket, but either way it will need to be programmed to the truck to work. there are hundreds of threads on here and a little searching will yield you all the info you could ever want to know.

If there is was a recall, there would be a TSB issued which you can look up.
The information might help you.

Check the plug under the rear bumper and make sure the connection is nice and clean.
