Default 2012 Axle bearings failing at 70,000 miles?

Over the past two weeks I've been getting a buzzing noise from the rear of the truck that got progressively worse mid-last week. I jacked up the rear, took the wheels and brake rotors off, and turned the axles, and I can hear and feel the clunking from the left rear axle.

Outside of some slightly larger tires (I put some LT tires on it to improve its towing manners) and towing a trailer well within the payload and towing limits, the truck is stock and certainly has not been abused.

Has anyone had or heard of issues with this axle tearing up bearings at such a low mileage? Only time I've ever replaced them on any vehicle they had well over 150k miles and I swapped them out because I was replacing axle seals and just did it while I was doing the job. I'm hauling it to the dealer today mainly because I want them to go to Ford to get them to pony up for the parts at a minimum. I shouldn't have to be replacing bearings (hopefully not an axle too) on a 4.5 year old truck that hasn't seen any unusual service.

Not that it will help but before 60K I had three axle seals and one bearing replaced on my '07 Tacoma. Then another seal and bearing at 110K.
