I put a Dynomax/Walker Ultra Flo SS Muffler 17296 on mine. Straight through 6" round 16 in case length. I kept the resonator on, I love the sound. Perfect for me.

I installed it myself with clamps, but the other day the rear tailpipe section popped off, so I dropped it off today at a local shop to get welded.

*Edit, Just got the truck back, $36 to get it welded up. It seems a bit quieter now, I wonder if I had some leaks from the clamped areas.

That's my ride in the video; both systems are superb, but I settled on the Mach X dual system. The single 4" straight pipe was a little loud for me; sounds like an absolute beast but I do LOTS of long hours commuting so I went with the tamer sounding dual system. I've got 40,000kms and 8 months on my system now and I think it sounds even better now.

I took my 2012 FX2 5.0 to a muffler shop 2 days after I bought it. Had them cut the exhaust just in front of the resonator. New pipe and a Flowmaster series 50 single IN dual OUT with 3" pipe out and 4: chrome tips.

Sounds amazing. No drone

Solo is a Canadian/US company. They have a Buffalo, NY shop but I drove to their Mississauga shop to do all the fitting, testing and video for the 5.0L system. Give 'em a call and order it up! No duty or brokerage fees and help support an exceptional small (half) Canadian business.

My cost to replace my muffler was <$200. But after checking out Solo, I think if I upgrade in the future I'll be getting a Solo Mach X for sure.

I took a '12 FX4 with the 5.0 for a test drive. The dealer had a Roush exhaust and Roush cold air intake on it. Huge drone at 60mph. So I told them I'd take it only IF they put stock exhaust back on but leave the Roush CAI. Sound now is perfect for me...quiet when cruising and definaltely hear it when you step on it. Had it for two weeks now and love it.
