2011 XLT No speedometer
I have a 2011 f150 xlt automatic that has 76000 miles on it. The past 2 times I have towed my boat, I have had a issue where I lost my in-dash computer and speedometer. When this happens I also have noticed a change in the vehicles shifting. It seems (not a 100% sure) like it will start in 3rd and go to 5th and will not downshift till I stop, and the little wrench would illuminate. I was thinking it might be the vehicle speed sensor but that would not explain why it only happens while towing. Also the second time this happened I think i heard a knock. Each time though when I got back in to the truck the symptoms were gone. Any ideas on what to look for or check?Thank you to anyone who read this post for reading it!

Just a thought... do you have it in "Tow/Haul" mode when this happens? If so, try towing the boat WITHOUT being in Tow/Haul mode. The problem may lie in that switch. Just a guess/thought/suggestion/idea...
