Read my tale in the "acceleration shudder diagnosed by ford" thread.
I tow heavy weight - I can't use traction bars... can I?

Only a special type like what I designed described on the other thread I mentioned.
I'm still investigating a change to the spring setup and avoiding the traction bars and such.

I have a 2011 Screw 6.5 box 5.0L. This shudder from a stop is making me crazy!! When unloaded it's "there", but when the bed is loaded it's much worse. This is an embarrasement for a $45K truck. Why can't Ford address this and come up with a fix?

The only real fix is traction bars or new spring setup. Both are expensive and negatively impact ride quality on a half ton so we get cheap TSB fixes hoping to reduce it to tolerable levels.
Mine is ok empty, but pulling my trailer is scary like the ujoint is about to explode under 20 mph.

i'm having the same concern with my 2012 2x4, reg cab, 78" bed, 5.0L. have had it since new, now have 2200 miles. the shudder is pronounced on take-off and at the 1-2, 2-3 shifts then seems to diminish. it's most noticeable when towing our camper, a 4400" jayco.

I have a 2010 SCREW 5.5 and just hauled a load for the first time. I also have the problem. When pulling out I feel a vibration in first gear. I had about 500 lbs in the back.
