I have the same issue and I loaded the truck with 1000lbs of concrete bags. Took it to the dealer and they drove it. They think it is an engine miss due to a fault with the intake. When they stamp out the holes for the injectors, sometimes there is a defect and it causes an injector misfire. It is really noticeable when under load at lower rpms. When they get the timing chain tensioner in they are going to address this issue too. (rattle at 1000rpm on restart when hot). Hopefully they are right cause this vibration is driving me nuts.

So it may NOT be the Transmission after all.

PLEASE keep us posted.

Default Maybe we can help Ford figure this out

Howdy all. I have a 2010 XLT Screw and have not had the problem. Yes I do tow maybe not as often as others. Here are some questions we need to ask of those that are having the issue.

What rear end do you have 3.73 etc?
What size Tires and type of tires
What size rims stock etc
Are you in Tow Haul mode when it happens

These are all things that could effect this and if a lot of them line up maybe someone can take it to Ford and say here are some Stats to use and help them help us(-;

3.73 rear end 4.6 3V 17" Hankock factory tires and rims. When I tow I use Tow Haul mode. Tag your it now

This is ALL original Factory equipment. Only change was the Magnaflow exhaust but it was still doing it before I had that installed.

I've even read a thread somewhere that it may have to do with the Traction Control. I've even tried that on AND off as well. Nothing seems to help it.

2011 XLT SuperCrew 3.5L Ecoboost with a 6.5" bed and 157" wheel base. I have not had the chance to try this while towing. My only experience is in normal automatic drive(ParkRearNuetralDriveManual2nd1st) and happens from a dead stop. It only does it in 1st gear with normal acceleration and at a speed between 3-7 MPH. Then it disappears and does not happen in any other gear. I don't think mine is an engine miss as others have suggested, but I very well could be wrong. I feel this little wiggle in the mid to rear portion of the truck.

Thank you! BTW, none of this is building my confidence that I should go out and buy a SCREW with the 6.5ft bed, and the 5.5 bed is simply too small for what I'm after. Not sure why Ford can't get this right after several years of the problem....

I have a 2011 f150 5.0l 4x4 6.5 ft box.made in Kansis city.
I have had my truck for 6 months now and have been at the dealer ship too many times with this truck.
to start off the truck has had the shudder/ vibration since the day i picked it up.
they have drove and and looked at it 4 times for this issue. 2 pirelli tires replaced, as per high road force.
1 drive shaft replaced,
spacers installed in rear as per tsb for vibration.
none of this has fixed the shudder vibration off the line on, or at 130kmph on hwy. which shakes the truck.
the service manager sayed to me many times its the tires. So I replaced the pirellis with micheline's. this did not fix the problem.
Im fed up with these problems, apparently ford cant fix this issue as it has been around in f150 trucks for years.
oh i forgot to mention the transmission pump failed at 2000kms.
ruined my driveway.
this truck has been a nite mare. and by reading all the stuff on these sites about the new f150's I do regret my purchase.
I am willing to join any class action suits against ford.

This is an axle wrap problem. Get a traction bar device our better yet replace the second longest leaf spring with one longer in the front so it reaches the front eye of the main leaf. That will stop the acceleration shudder from a stop.

Read my tale in the "acceleration shudder diagnosed by ford" thread.

dcfluid, I agree, I don't think this is a tranny or misfire issue. I have owned 2 Dodge Megacabs one with a one piece axle and one of the new body styles where they went with a two piece axle and the issue appeared. Gawd why can't Ford, and the other manufacturers, deal with stuff before they hit the market. Dodge did a two piece axle to save money, cheaper than a big one piece aliminum one.
