As for the alarm, I totally agree the factory one sucks. What i am asking is in the RS it says it has that other 2-stage sensor, is that what is normally in the truck, or is this in addition to the crappy factory alarm?
Also, does anyone know why only one of these kits has a transponder? Do i need to buy that for the 200 kit?
Thanks
The pin switch is located behind the air filter box inside the engine compartment. It has a black rubber boot over it. I bought the BT4Z-19G364-A, and I can confirm the range is excellent with the second fob. I bought the new key (with the remote start button built in) for convenience, and the range is still excellent. This kit comes with everything needed for plug and play remote start (still needs to be enabled by dealer). There is a 2 way antenna module you install behind the mirror, is this what you mean by transponder ? This kit does not have any security/alarm features, i.e. no shock sensor .

So, with kit BT4Z-19G364-A you able to purchase the keys with the integrated buttons and use them instead of the separate fob?

I can confirm that.
Ford two stage shock sensor sucks.
Cheap Radios Shack alarm I had 20 years ago was better then this.

To the OP thank you so much for asking this question. I went straight to the dealer today in Calgary and bought the antenna kit BC3Z-19G364-A that had 2 new keys for $271 and took me 10 mins to put it in and went back and they enabled the remote start for free, they also cut the keys. As far as programming the 2 new keys its a piece of cake takes like 30 secs.

One would think that my platinum with a sticker price at 49k would include a decent alarm system to protect the investment I made. I know they need to keep the price down to compete but atleast have the option open to people. A viper system is at worst $400 an that's not going to break the bank for anyone buying a new truck.

1) BC3Z-19G364-A This kit comes with two new keys that have the remote start button built in. No separate fob's are needed but there is no confirmation that the vehicle has started.

2) BT4Z-19G364-A This kit comes with a separate fob to start the vehicle and also beeps to confirm that the vehicle has started. Apparently has better range and costs $70 more.

Caperj,

I'm a little lazy right now, are there instructions in the manual on how to program the new keys after they're cut? Can someone other than the dealer cut them and I can simply program them by myself? And finally, how many keys can I have programmed to the truck, can the two new keys with remote start and the original two keys all be programmed and work the truck at the same time?

The keys are easy to program and there are instructions in the manual - you need both original keys to do it, but it's a pretty straightforward process. I believe you can have up to 8 keys programmed, and all of the keys can be used to start the truck.
