Default Smartpass interference

I had the BT4Z-19G364-A installed by the dealer last week on my 2011 Supercab. I used the Ford accessories website so I was only charged a half hour labor which I think is a smoking deal. However I have a couple of issues. One is that my fob doesn't beep to confirm that the truck started. It does light up though. The other issue is that it seems to take a few times of pushing the button to start the truck. I think the antenna has interference from the toll smartpass that is very close to it on the windshield. I warned the dealer ahead of time about this but they mounted the antenna right next to it anyway. Should I take a razorblade to the smartpass and see if it works better? For $12 I can buy a pass that mounts to the front license plate.

I had a similar issue right after I installed mine. Moved the antenna first, all it ended up being was the battery in the fob was old. Once I replaced with a fresh one, it started working as it should.

I replaced the battery and it works fine. The sticker on the bag the manual came in reads 12/10. It had been sitting on a shelf for almost two years. Thanks for the reply.

So like everyone here I am about to take the plung and buy some sort of remote start:

Remote Start System - Bi-Directional 100 Series - Plug n Play Part No: BT4Z-19G364-A $229.90

Remote Start System - Bi Directional 200 Series - Plug N Play-Part No: BB5Z-19G364-C $273.90

Remote Start System - RPO Plug-in-Play Kit -Part No: BC3Z-19G364-A$176.00

But there is one on the Ford Accessories site that is never mentioned here

http://accessories.ford.com/vehicles...ote-start.html
Remote Start System - Long Range Plug-N-Play

Part No: CL3Z-19G364-A

Any one ever heard of this?

If anything, I like many, will go with the 200 for the shock sensors as an added feature....

I just bought the Series100 unit BT4Z-19G364A snagged it on ebay for $175..!!

I really wanted the Series200 with the shock sensors, but other than that, I think mine has all the samefeatures...

CL3Z-19G364-A
The one you quoted CL3Z-19G364-A is pretty much the same as the Series100 except it has NO 2-way confirmation that the vehicle is actually running.... it only flashes the truck lights to confirm.

Enjoy..!!

Ordered BT4Z-19G364-A, going to self install and negotiated a half hour labor rate for the dealer to enable. Searched the web for the cheapest price, found it for 238 at the link below and my local dealer price matched.

Looking forward to this upgrade!

I had the same system installed and paid $50 for installation. I used the Ford Accessories site. I think that came out to a half hour labor. It's not hard to install but I'd just as soon have them do it so if it quits working the dealer can't say it was my fault for installing it wrong.

I got a price through that site. The closest dealer who offered online pricing wanted 300 for the kit and another 350 for installation. My dealer wanted an hour for labor. He told me it takes 45 minutes to program new keys. I told him that it didn't and that I would handle that part. I don't even think the kit I ordered comes with new keys, should just be a fob.
